Several people have asked me about juicing celery. Instead of answering everyone’s questions individually I decided to share here.
I have found that juicing vegetables and fruits is relatively quick & easy. The juicer I use is the Omega 8400. It’s an older model oscillating cold press juicer that does not heat up when in use and so very little nutrients and enzymes are lost during the juicing process and juice has a longer shelf life. (About 3 days) It’s said that using organic celery is the best as celery is extremely high in water content and during its growth process it pulls up nutrients from the earth as it grows. What the earth contains, it contains. If there is pesticides in the soil the celery will contain pesticides. It’s not one of the vegetables that can be pealed or washed off. I have found the cost difference between organic and non organic celery to be relatively small & right around 50 cents to one dollar a head. In the photos below you will see that I used one large head of celery. I washed the celery. Dabbed off the excess water with a dry cotton cloth. Cut off the ends & put it through the juicer. The dividends were quite high in this batch making one quart of celery juice. (8 to 16 oz is a good serving size) It is said that juicing celery by itself is the best way to receive the health benefits from the celery. For some reason adding other ingredients interferes with the properties of the celery and makes it so it’s not as helpful for the body. Drinking celery juice on an empty stomach such as for my first meal of the day or 2 hours after eating or drinking anything else helps the body to best utilize the health properties of the celery. It is said that: 📍Celery juice is extremely hydrating. 📍Celery juice is a natural diuretic. 📍 Helps detox free radicals. 📍 Celery juice is Full of vitamins & minerals. 📍Helps flush kidneys, liver, intestines of toxic waste. 📍Support the lungs and the overall lymphatic symptom. 📍Helps to stabilize blood sugar. 📍Reduces candida. I’m sure there is several other benefits for drinking celery juice those where just a few things that i remember off the top of my mind. As with anything I highly recommend that you Do your own research and discern for yourself. I personally find mono juicing is the most effective way to juice as my body doesn’t have to work as hard to break down, process or utilize what I’ve consumed. However, every now and then I’ll get creative and make juice with a variety of vegetables and fruits. Surprisingly enough celery juice has a decent flavor. To me it tastes a little salty and twangy and the celery leafs seem to make it a little bit bitter. Celery juice is known to induce bowl movements so you may want to take that in to consideration when you drink it. Let me know in the comments if this was helpful in anyway or if you have any questions! If you have anything to add you are more than welcome to share! #raw #detox #fruitvegies #takingchargeofmyhealthandwelbeing
